An IPO registrar (Registrar and Transfer Agent, RTA) is a SEBI-registered intermediary appointed by the issuing company to handle the administrative side of an IPO. They process all bid applications, finalise the basis of allotment, manage refunds for non-allottees, and credit allotted shares to successful applicants' demat accounts.
